The area surrounding Bodiam Station was formerly owned by The Guinness family, for the growing of hops used in the brewing of beer. In sight of the coach can be found a hop garden and restored "Hop Pickers"huts, plus an intriguing display of how the local area made a contribution to the brewing industry.

The 14th-century Bodiam Castle can be seen from the station and even the bedroom window of the coach. This quintessentially English castle, owned by the National Trust is one of Britain's most picturesque properties in the heart of a historic landscape that will take you only minutes to walk there and is open to visitors most of the year.
